Basic Human Rights staff and volunteers are working on the ground to provide food to victims of the flood in Pakistan.

An estimated 1,600 people were killed in the disaster, which has affected over 20 million people and 600,000 homes have been destroyed.Affected people are in desperate need of aid.

Crops and farmland have been totally destroyed, provoking fears over food shortages, and the collapsing of bridges and significant damage to roads has meant that not only is access limited, it is extremely dangerous.

The latest dangers include the threat of contracting waterborne diseases such a cholera and being bitten by snakes, which have been drawn to the land by the overwhelming amount of water.

Basic Human Rights is focusing on feeding those in desperate need of food.
