What we do
Basic Human Rights works to protect the rights of most vulnerable groups in conflict, post-conflict and transition societies. Our main focus is on children and women affected by violence, poverty, natural disaster, and socio-economic constraints. We emphasise on participatory approach and believe in empowering civil society to vie for social transformation through active participation.
Emergency & Relief:
Basic Human Rights mandate is to respond to any kind of major disaster in any part of the world through:
Raising awareness to ensure effective and efficient response
Providing relief items according to the needs of the affected people directly and through local partners on the ground
All above in coordination with the UN-OCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) and by following the SPHERE standards
Sustainable Development:
Basic Human Rights believe that the best way to bring sustainable development is through participatory approach by involving local people, capacity building of the local communities and through an effective coordination mechanism by involving all the stake holders.
